Hello Gilligan!

Hello Gilligan!

I'd like to introduce the newest member of my family. Also, some details about my upcoming trip to Japan and other ramblings about what I've been up to.

It’s been a busy few months. Lots of chores, gardening and DIY. Not a lot of socialising. Not a lot of web development (outside of work). Certainly not a lot of blog posts.

Work has kept me steadily busy up until this point, and probably will for a while longer. I couldn’t be happier with the success of the game, knowing how hard everyone has worked on it.

I’ve managed to get into a pretty good routine with my running. Mostly at the gym. As boring as I find treadmills, they give me a chance to run at a consistent pace, to my own tunes, and without fear of wind nor rain impeding me. They are comfortable.

Last week I ran my fastest 5km, at 00:20:25. I beat my previous best time by about 3 minutes, so I’m pretty happy about it. I wrote more about my running in May, and I’m happy to report I’ve been fairly consistent since then.

Gilligan! The latest addition to our family

Ash and I adopted a rabbit, named Gilligan, back in August. He is our wonderful son, and he has made our new house feel much more like a home. He’s a beautiful, (mostly) well behaved young lionhead, and he’s a real character. Since welcoming him into our home, he’s become increasingly comfortable around us. Generally, he’s just very good company.

Gilligan has his very own Instagram (which Ash set up and maintains), so go follow him there if you want.

As is an annual tradition by this point, I’m also writing here to brag about my next trip to Japan. I’m taking my yearly pilgrimage next week, and will be joined by my good friend Andy. With every intention of brushing up on my photography, I’ll be visiting Kyoto, Koya, Hiroshima, Hakone, Tokyo, Kamakura and a few places between.

It’s his first trip to Japan, so he gets the benefit of experiencing everything for the first time. いいね!

And I’m excited! I genuinely can’t wait to be back - I can almost taste the Melon Fanta.
